Could Yoga for weight loss and slimming the body ?

Many ways to solve problem of excess weight, one of them by practicing yoga. Yoga focuses on meditation or asceticism activity in which a person focuses all the mind to control the senses and the body as a whole.

But often the question is, what true yoga is able to cut the fat in the body? So, what do the experts regarding the benefits of yoga to lose weight? Here is their opinion:

1. Beth A. Lewis, Associate Professor of the University of Minnesota School of Kinesiology, Minneapolis.

"Practicing yoga regularly can affect weight loss. Typically, weight loss will occur if a person's caloric intake (ie food and beverages consumed) is less than the calories spent (ie, the energy expended throughout the day and more expended during exercise ), "he said

Lewis said the practice of yoga will just burn fewer calories than traditional exercise (jogging, brisk walking). However, yoga can increase a person's consciousness, especially in choosing and eating healthy foods.

"Yoga makes a person able to avoid foods that make them feel sluggish and lethargic (processed foods). Instead, they will find a healthy meal, which then can contribute to weight loss," he explained.

"In addition, many individuals eat more when they feel stress and yoga can help fight stress," she said.

2. Dr. Lewis Maharam, an expert from the American College of Sports Medicine

According to Maharam, yoga is a great tradition that involves physical exercise, relaxation and breathing. But according to him, aerobic exercise is still the best way to help a person lose weight.

"If someone wants to lose weight in a yoga class, they must enter into a challenging class. They must ensure that their heart will beat faster," he said

3. Jen Cassetty, a Health Fitness Specialist from the American College of Sports Medicine, based in New York City.

"In theory it could. Yoga does not belong to the category of high-intensity exercise. But it can be followed continuously train and strengthen the work of the muscles," she said.

"As with any program of activities to lose weight, you must engage in this activity 4-5 times a week to see the changes in body shape, as well as maintaining a balanced diet. After that, your metabolism will be raised through activities and you can see the changes in body shape or even will lose weight, "she said.

4. Leigh Crews, American College of Sports Medicine Expert Media

"Experts agree that increasing physical activity levels is the first step to lose weight so by implanting thoughts, it is important to choose the right yoga movement," he said.

"If your goal is weight loss, then choose one of the vibrant yoga movements, such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa or Power Yoga, this is a smart choice,"

5. Annie B. Kay, Nutritionist from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Stockbridge

"Yoga facilitates weight loss in some way and will be very Effective when combined with proper nutrition guidelines," he said.

Kay said, yoga is an ancient spiritual science developed in India more than five thousand years ago. Yoga is often regarded as a physical exercise, exercise that covers all aspects of lifestyle including diet, mental attitude, lifestyle choices, and the study of philosophy.

"The practice of yoga and meditation can help the development of consciousness during the meal, helping awareness related to eating, food preparation, and speed of eating,"
